[XP]Add the option to turn off optical drive in the right-click menu

Thursday on August 25th, 2005Life

Experimental platform: Windows XP

Windows has a pop-up option in the right-click menu of the optical drive, but no close option. Moreover, when the machine is placed underneath, it is easy to open, but when it is closed, it is blocked by the tray, which is very inconvenient. It would be much better if you could add turning off the optical drive in the right-click menu.
Today, I read a short article using the functions in Super Rabbit to add the option to turn off the optical drive.

Find the srcd.dll (very small) file in the Super Rabbit directory
Copy to the SYSTEM directory (XP is the system32 directory)
Register this file with regsvr32.exe in the format:
regsvr32.exe srcd.dll
Add under the registry [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Drive\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers branch
Super Rabbit CDROM Eject
Modify the default key value to:
{F0479943-AA1D-49DD-86F4-6035E068260C}
That's fine.

The biggest advantage of this method is that it does not occupy system resources.

Here is: srcd.dll download.
